OK, so Northwind and Pubs are not shipping with SQLServer 2005 - instead we get AdventureWorks - time to rewrite all the database exercises in our courses!
But hang on - there is an opportunity here! Pubs was always a badly named database - raising false hopes that sql server would come with a complete list of public houses in the UK and instead finding something to do with strangely named authors and books.
So here's the thing - the world needs a real Pubs database for sql server 2005 - and I am volunteering to put it together. I think I'll need about a year to tour the country for my research, and for that I will need funding. So if you want to assist in producing a world class database of uk public houses, send me money now. And remember, it's for the children (ok, ok, that last bit is a lie)
